As a senior marketing communications consultant who has worked for clients in the property sector for more than three decades, I have experience of all aspects of property marketing communications and public relations. On major projects, I have particularly focused on the organisation of local community engagement during the planning stages and on producing pre-let marketing campaigns targeted at potential occupiers.

Having worked from home for the past ten years, I'm also no stranger to many of the conditions imposed on us by the current Covid-19 lockdown. So I can still provide a number of clients with some essential services in readiness for the time when we are all allowed out once again. These include:

  • Copywriting and content preparation for websites, presentations and new business submissions
  • Design and production of marketing and community engagement/consultation materials including websites and presentations
  • Drawing and updating scheme leasing plans for marketing to prospective occupiers

Leasing plans for your agents to use are a vital part of property marketing. The above plan for Chester Northgate, together with supporting maps and plans of the city centre, car park locations and the regional catchment areas, went through numerous iterations as the scheme progressed through planning and pre-let marketing.

Development projects need websites for both community engagement/public consultation and marketing to prospective occupiers. The above example shows Chester Northgate's dedicated marketing website targeted at occupiers and their agents. It presents the strengths of the city, illustrates the development, and provides occupiers with maps, plans and other key information to help inform and influence their decision.

To be memorable and compelling, all communications materials need to be well-planned with copy and content targeted at the intended audience precisely. Images and colourful graphics and animations can do the work of many words – with presentations considerably enlivened by fresh-looking, well thought through, professional imagery.
